Weekend well-being retreat in Grasmere, the Lake District, November 6th-8th, 2020
This weekend well-being retreat includes mindfulness practices and gentle yoga with the aim of increasing the feeling of well-being, relaxation and rejuvenation. Glenthorne Quaker Guest House and Conference Centre is a perfect venue to enrich your experience, in the beautiful setting of Grasmere, in the Lake District.
There will be some silent practices on this retreat and so it is advised that participants should have some experience of meditation although it is not necessary to have any experience of yoga. Through experiential learning, you will deepen your meditation practice and move closer towards stillness and a sense of calm.
Although here will be some sitting meditations, we will also carry out some movement exercises outdoors, so please bring suitable clothing!
Check in can be from 2 pm on November 6th, giving you time to settle in and enjoy the setting. You are also welcome to park up at Glenthorne before 2 pm and enjoy the scenery.

Saturday 7th November
7:45 am- Meditation
8:30 am – Full breakfast) 10 am- Mindfulness and preparatory practices for silence (break included)
1 pm- Lunch and free time
3:45- 6:15-Moving into silence Yin yoga and mindfulness practices
7 pm Evening meal
Sunday 8th November
7:45 am- Meditation
8:30 am – Breakfast
10 am – Check out of room
10:30- Moving out of silence
12:30 pm – Close.
The full cost of the weekend is £250 and includes all the above and a private
En-Suite room. Meals included in the cost are evening meals and full breakfast.
Lunches are not included in the cost. Some people may wish to eat in Grasmere (5-minute walk away) or you can also order a packed lunch from Glenthorne.
Yin yoga requires supportive props such as bolsters, blocks and yoga mats, blankets and pillows. Please bring your own if you have them - they are available if you do not.
