'Welcome home to yourself'- retreat.
Join us for an indulgent 3 days at Eden, at Broughton Hall Estate, Skipton, Yorkshire Dales, June 18th-20th, 2021

I think it is fair to say that we could all benefit from some nurturing and time- out for ourselves, after the stresses from this last year.

Join me on this truly holistic retreat – attending to all of your being: mind, body and spirit. Set in the landscape of Broughton Hall Estate, covering 3,000 acres of roaming hills, fields, and forest, you will find Eden, nestled within this breath-taking treasure.

Through mindfulness meditations, both in stillness and through movement, we can move inward, and reconnect with the ‘true self’. Gentle yoga, including Hatha, Yin yoga and Yoga Nidra (also known as Yogic sleep), will soothe the body, mind and spirit.

During this retreat you are also invited to explore and experience the elements: Immerse yourself in the heated swimming pool (naturally cleansed rather than chlorine), or the lake. Let your body sweat the small stuff, and 'let go' of toxins in the sauna. Venture out under the night sky around the fire-pit. Tread mindfully on the earth in the forest. Let your mind enter the ethers, in meditation. Welcome home to yourself.

This retreat is suitable for couples, or friends, or, an adventure by yourself.

About your host- Jilly Edmundson

I am an accredited therapist and trainer of holistic therapies and mindfulness, and a yoga instructor. The turning point that led me on this current journey began 18 years ago when I was diagnosed with an eye condition, that could have caused me to lose my sight. It all started there- as I tried many different techniques and therapies to change this potentially dooming fate. Since then I explored complementary therapies while I studied for a professional certificate in teaching, and later, my BSc in Complementary Medicine and Health Sciences. Mindfulness was part of my course and was not talked about much at that time. Later I explored the body connection though learning yoga, and most recently completed an MSc in psychology, driven by my desire to explore mindfulness in more depth, from an academic perspective. During this time I looked into the impact of mindfulness in nature, and mindfulness as a well-being intervention for home-care workers.

I am delighted to be able to offer you this retreat and grateful to Broughton Hall Estate for accommodating us as their guests. It is a special place indeed.
